March Finish
Here is my finished quilt for March. I made it using a jelly roll of Decadent Victorian. It is the first lap quilt I have made for myself in many years. I consider it to be my New Year's Resolution. I had it up on my design wall last summer when my children decided it would be fun to tear it down. Over the Christmas holidays I put it back together and sewed it. My friend Tammy quilted it for me. It has all the colours of my wedding in it so I call it Wedding Memories.

Zig Zag Quilt
Here is the fabric I started out with for my Zig Zag Quilt. I am always amazed at what cutting and piecing fabric together can create. It is the same feeling I have when crocheting or knitting. I got up early yesterday before work, to start it and here is my first row.
I am very happy with it. I can't wait to see the whole thing together.

Inspiration
I am so excited! I have friends who just had a baby boy and I was going to be making a quilt for them. I have to say I am grateful to people who choose to find out what they are going to have, even if I did not. It makes it so much easier to plan a quilt. I was going to make a rail fence quilt similar to this one that I had previously made for a friend's grandson, quilted by Tammy.
I had cut out the strips but something just did not feel right. I had thought about making a row quilt but then today I saw AmandaJean's posting about the zigzag quilt. I had my aha moment. My strips are 2 1/2 inches so it will be a bit smaller but I had bought a really cute Paddington Bear Border so I will still use it to make it a bit bigger. Thank you to all of the bloggers who provide me with inspiration.

Rainbow Quilt Part 2
Here is a quilt I made a few years ago for one of my nephew's. It is the yellow brick road pattern by Terry Atkinson. It was quilted by my friend Marilyn. My favourite fabric is the green. It is a bunch of colourful frogs jumping around. Since I started quilting making baby and children's quilts I am so use to the brights. It has taken me a while to get use to more muted colours.

Rainbow Quilt
This is a Rainbow Quilt I made for my son last summer for his birthday. It is from one of M'liss Rae Hawley's booksI call it the Reading Rainbow Jungle Quilt. It is hard to see in this picture, but the border has animals reading and the bus has Library written on the side. Mr. G. helped me decide the colours for the quilt. The inner border is one of my most favourite fabrics. It was hard to cut, but I am very happy that it cut to be used in my son's quilt. I had Tammy quilt if for me. I find that having someone quilt for me helps me to complete the quilts. I have a few works in progress, but not too many. Mr. G had a wonderful idea for the label of his quilt. He wanted me to use the name tag that had hung over his hook at school last year. I scanned it into the computer and now all I have to do is print it out on the fabric paper. I love when my children get involved with the quilting!

Rainbow Swap
I am very excited to have joined Jane's Rainbow Swap. It is my first swap and I know it is going to be a lot of fun. I chose the dark green colour as it was the last in group 3. Then I realized how lucky I was because my local quilt shop has green fabric on sale right now. Luckily for me I checked my limited stash first and realized that I had a green that would be perfect. I am not really a fabric collector, I am more of a project collector. I get the fabrics and pattern all together and then they all stand in line while I try to figure out which one should go first. Part of my excitement is that I love the rainbow. A lot of the quilts that I have made for little ones have all the colours of the rainbow. Now I will have one for myself.

One Project a Month Challenge
I got this idea from the Tag Along Teddies Blog. I didn't join up but I am trying to do it on my own. I would like to get 12 quilts done this year. Last year I got 6 quilts done and a tablerunner. This is my quilt for January. It was made for a very special friend's granddaughter. It started being an entirely different quilt differently but I had some problems with it, so I took what I had and turned it into this. It was my first square quilt. I am really happy with out it turned out. I had Tammy Spencer quilt it for me. She does absolutely beautiful work.
