Nancy Drew - Get A Clue
Hurray! My Nancy Drew Get a Clue quilt is finished. I had bought a layer cake years ago of the fabric and tried to find a pattern that would work well as I did not want to cut up the the prints. I ended up modifying the Briar Rose pattern by England Street quilts. I had some leftover squares so I pieced a nine patch on the back.
I asked the quilter Tammy Spencer if she could put in a magnifying glass, and question mark in the design. She did a fabulous job at incorporating them into the quilt.
I read all of the Nancy Drew books as a kid and played a lot of the video games with my children. This quilt will be a keepsake for me.

Slow Stitching Sunday
This morning I put the binding on my Nancy Drew Get a Clue quilt and this afternoon and tonight I will be working on hand stitching the binding. I am so happy to have it almost finally done. My daughter has been hand sewing a character from the Animal Crossing.

Silver Lining
For my Friday Night Sew In, I worked on my Silver Lining quilt. It is going to be a quilt for my sister and brother in law who will be married 25 years in September. I am using a combination of patterns and the Stiletto fabric from Basic Grey. It is coming together smoothly which does not always happen.
Happy International Quilt Day!

Merry and Bright
I have had this fabric, Merry and Bright for along time. It originally came as a kit but I decided I no longer liked the pattern. A few years ago at a retreat I attended someone was making the Charm Big Star pattern by Missouri Star Quilt Company using Christmas fabrics. I really liked it and decided to make a version for myself. The fabric showcases a lot of snowflakes so I wanted to find a snowflake pattern that I could use as the focus block. I found wonderful snowflake paper piecing patterns from Canuck Quilter Designs. I was also able to find a fabulous flannel red snowflake fabric for the binding. Quilting has definitely been helping through these self distancing times.
