Stitching Sunday

When my nephews and nieces were born many of them got birth cross stitches. Of course my children never did. I have worked on my son's but my daughter's needed some cross stitch fabric which I had a hard time finding. Last week I was at a needlework show and I found some of the fabric. Now I finally get to get started on hers and hopefully finish his.

Such a nice keepsake - my mother made one for my daughter and we treasure it.

Hi There, I noticed you were having a hard time finding cross stitch fabric. Are you using the Aida or Linen? I just ask because I have some Aida in a couple of sizes and colors (white, cream, beige, etc) that I would be happy to send you if I have what you are looking for. You see, I have Scleroderma and Peripheral Neuropathy and can no longer do the intricate counted cross stitch I so loved. So I discovered piecing quilts with the sewing machine and that has become my new love. Anyway, I kept all my cross stitch supplies and have no one in my family or friend circles that do cross stitch. So...if I have anything you need, I would love to share. Also, I live very close to a shop called the Shepherds Bush. They are known world wide for their cross stitch designs and the phenomenal variety they have. They also carry cross stitch fabrics, both Aida and Linens on the bolt in any size and color you could imaging. Along with lots of hand dyed threads. So here's the link to their shop, so you can look if your interested. I go there often just to get linen to do simple embroidery quilt blocks on, (simple embroidery is about the only thing my hands can manage anymore). They will ship to you if you know what you want and call them and some things you can order online. Well, I know I got carried away here, I don't know how much cross stitch you do, but as I said, I would just like to share some of what I have if anyone needed it. Okay, here's the link to the shop ... http://www.shepherdsbush.net/ ...one last thing...I not a nut case, really...I'm just a quilter with lots of cross stitch stuff I can't use, LOL. Patterns too!!! Hugs...
