WIP Wednesday

I decided to take a break from making half-square triangles, and go back to working on one of my previous UFO's. I really like it now. I was very unhappy with my pattern choices at first. I am determined to get as much done for my UFO Challenge with Judy of Patchwork Times before the end of December. I will definitely be doing this challenge again next year.

Well, the scarf bug has bitten me and I have now started on a second scarf. This one will be for my daughter. It has definitely been relaxing for me to have my hands busy. I think I will move on to mittens once I have the scarves made.

Design Wall Monday

I keep working away on the zigzag quilt. I have really enjoyed the pace of it, which has definitely been slow and steady.  I have two more zigzags to make and then I can start sewing the blocks together. I got my Butterfly Blooms quilt back from the quilter and I have an issue with it - It is gorgeous! I have fallen in love with it and so has my daughter. It was intended for my niece, but I may have to make another one. I have not decided yet. Check out what others are creating for Design Wall Monday at Patchwork Times.

Blue

I have been blue for a while. My grandmother died last week and the funeral was held on Monday. She lived quite far from us, so I have been gone quite a few days. She was a wonderful and strong woman. Her husband died in his early 30s and she was left alone to raise 7 children, one of them being my father. In my humble opinion, she did a wonderful job raising him. The legacy I hope to receive from her is both her inner and outer strength, and the importance of family.

I needed something to keep my hands busy while I was away, so I took some yarn with me and started working on a scarf. I am not sure who it will be going to, but my nephew and niece have put in requests for scarves of their own.
