WIP Wednesday - Reading Rainbow

I have been working away at my Reading Rainbow. It is simple to do but you need to pay attention to how all of the parts fit together. I decided to put one of the sections together to see what it look like and to give myself some motivation.

Reading Rainbow

The thing I realized after I had cut all of the fabric, is that they have variations in colour and that affects how the sections get put together. I tried as best as possible to match colour variations to one another so that in the end it will look cohesive.  Linking to WIP Wednesday at The Needle and Thread Network and WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced.

Ooh, I love the overlapping effect. Great block, Michelle!

I can see how you would have to choose those overlapping bits to make sure they 'fit' the variations in the fabrics! Whew, a thinking persons quilt project, not just a sew for relaxation in multi chains or triangles!

That looks great! Though I'm afraid I'll have that song stuck in my head all day… "Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high…" :-)
