Hello everyone, and welcome to the Quilter's Gallery Blog Hop Party with Give-Aways celebrating its 5th Birthday. I am giving away a Snap Sack Small Quilt Kit.
Here is taken out of the package. Backing is included in the kit. I wish I had bought one for myself.
To enter, I would like to have you help me with some basting tips. It is my least favourite part of quilting. If you don't have a basting tip, any quilting tip would be helpful. I am also curious to find out how you decide on you choose your quilting designs for the quilt.
The winner will be chosen randomly and you must have a way for me to contact you. I will leave the giveaway open until December 17 at 8:00 PM EST and I will ship internationally. Good luck with this and the other giveaways at the Quilter's Gallery.

I use the spray basting after I tape the backing to the floor. I also use fusible batting for table runners and small projects
I have never hand basted a quilt. I use heat activated spray when a piece is large. Tip: have multiple pairs of scissors on every surface in your work area!
I use a table and clamps and start basting from the centre using safety pins. Thanks for the chance.
Hi, I spread the quilt layers on my queen size bed. I then support the fabric with one hand and slide my cutting mat under with the other. I pin each section and then slide the mat to the next section. Saves the knees!!hope this helps, debbie
I do it the old fashioned way. Tape the quilt back to the floor, then sandwich the batting between the bottom and the top. Make everything nice and smooth and then start pinning from the centre out. I use curved safety pins and use my fist as a guide. I use lots of pins to prevent pickets.
I'm a beginner and don't really have any tips - but you can bet I'm reading through all the tips everyone else is leaving :)
I use spray and pins!
Thanks for the giveaway chance!

My only basting tip would be to pin, pin, pin. That's what I do, but after reading about spray basting I'm wondering if I should give it a try.
I use spray basting. Not sure what I will do over the winter. I would have a hard time doing pins.
I'm pretty new at quilting, but I like lines. I use safety pins to baste, but I haven't finished a quilt yet! But I'm getting there! Thanks for the chance to win! I would LOVE to win this one!
I belong to a group and we use a ping pong table - taping the backing down then the batting and topper. with help we start pinning from the ctr out. At home I use my bed and keep smoothing the layers as I pin. I recently did a runner and hand basted it because I needed the backing to stay centered. my stitches were very long - I found this very helpful. I have tried the spray basting but have not liked the results.
Great tips already! I have just discovered basting spray. Not for big quilts. You really need to spray with lots of ventilation.
Love the polka dots!

I spray baste and use pins as well. Might be overkill, but it works for me. Thanks for the chance to win.
What a super giveaway and great fabric! It's looking like I do not do much different than anyone else. I have tried all these methods and it really depends on the size and what kind of quilting is going to be done. My tip is if you use pins, when you are quilting and remove them, leave the pins open. It's quicker for next time.
Thank you for a great giveaway and a chance to win. Love that you held your giveaway open alittle longer. It takes awhile to visit all the blogs, hehe.
