On The Needles - August 31
I am working on a pair of socks for my daughter. I found these ones hard to get going, but now that I have it is going well. Check out what others have on their needles at Patchwork Times.

Design Wall Monday
My spools are starting to come together. It is neat to see them in a recognizable form. I would really like to get a push on this to have it finished by the end of the summer. Check out what others have made for Design Wall Monday at Patchwork Times.

Excitement
I had a very exciting package in the mail for me. I received all of this from winning Amy's One Week, One Challenge a while back. I can't believe it is all mine.
I have one of these lapel sticks, and I read about the possibility of using it for paper piecing. I used it for my tea time project and it worked great to get the first piece of fabric on rather than using pins.
Speaking of my tea time project I now have the top done. Small projects are great to help you have the motivation to get your bigger projects done.

Tea Time - Design Wall Monday
I was suppose to be working on my One Thing, One Week Challenge on the weekend but I got sidetracked by my August UFO.
I have had it for so many years, and thought I would finally start it. I love paper piecing, so I am not sure why I did not start it earlier but I think the tiny pieces may have intimated me.
It came as a kit, with pinks and blues, but I did not like the blues as much so I traded them out for some sage greens and purples.
I ended up having so much fun that I got 3 teacups done and started on the fourth. Check out what others have made for Design Wall Monday at Patchwork Times.

Socks
It is time to make my daughter some socks. Much like fabric, I love the feel and look of yarn and just like fabric, it is hard sometimes for me to start the project because the yarn looks perfect the way it is. In this case, thinking about the final result has me eager to get started. I will have to remember that the next time I am nervous about cutting up fabric.

Spools
I am loving my Spools. They have been so much fun to put together.
I am using my Jelly Roll of Boutique which I have been hoarding for a long time.
There has been a great quilt along called My Precious QAL hosted by kelbysews in which you use fabric in your stash which you have been relunctant to use. I have been waiting for a couple of years now to find the right projet for my Boutique fabric and when I saw the bright vibrant colours of the Spools pattern, I knew they would work perfectly together. The great thing is I will still have some fabric left over to create another project. I am linking up to WIP Wednesday at the Needle and Thread, and Freshly Pieced and hopefully will have more to show for My Precious QAL for mid August.
