Design Wall Monday - Definitely too cold for a Picnic!

I finished the last of my 80 blocks for my Picnic quilt over the holidays and I got the first two rows sewn together yesterday. It is definitely too cold here to have picnic right now.  At Christmas time we were wearing our spring jackets and now we are wearing our winter parkas.

I feel that this is a quilt that I will like better when it is finished. It felt like it took forever to get the blocks done and yet the first two rows when together so quickly. I find it difficult sometimes when working with a scrappy quilt to ensure that it is scrappy enough. I used quite a bit of fabrics from my stash but also bought some more in the blue/orange colour scheme. I have not tried this colour scheme before and I must say that I do like it.

I think it looks great! I've been wanting to make this pattern for a while. But I have such a long list of quilts I want to make. Lol. I can't wait to see yours all together.

I made a bunch of those blocks last year -- in 30's (all assembled, not quilted), and miscellaneous, for an online swap. They're easy blocks but they were tedious, because I stitched the cutaway triangles and trimmed those up for some future project.

Very pretty combo! I made this quilt two years ago and it is one of my favorites. I used green, red, gold, brown, blue, and a little bit of purple :)
