Hers and Hers
I made two pencil cases over the weekend. The first one was declared to not be wide enough, so a second one was quickly made. I noticed that the first pencil case would be perfect for my sock knitting, but they are hers and hers. Eventually, I will get around to making one for myself. I love how little fabric it takes make such a personalized item.

FNSI - Cable Socks
I have had a bit of a cold lately, so I decided to relax and doing some knitting for my Friday Night Sew In. I decided to branch out with my socks and try one with a cable. I got the pattern from Raverly. I love the look and how quickly it has gone. I only have one issue though I am near the end of the sock and I am positive that I am going to end up short of yarn. The pattern did not specifically say how much yarn was needed to make these socks. Has anyone ever had this issue before? Suggestions would be appreciated.

Last Finish - First Finish
This is my last finish of last year and my first finish of this year. I had gotten it quilted before Christmas, but left the binding to do until January so that I could make sure I had all of my Christmas sewing done. This quilt is for me and I love it. The pattern is Flurry by Moda. I really enjoy seeing the pinks incorporated into the presents. I don't think I have a favourite. I really enjoy them all. I am hoping to get another one of my WIP quilts finished so that I can have another quilt for myself this year.

One Word
For the past few years, I have chosen one word, and found it to be very helpful for me to think about throughout the year. The past years, I have chosen MYSELF, BREATHE AND RELAX. This year I have chosen the word:
FOCUS
When I did my Year End Review for 2013 I was amazed at how much I had accomplished and how many WIPs I had completed. I want to continue this and really focus on each project I am doing and really continue to strive to complete the goals and projects I have set for myself.
Here is one of my first projects of the year. My son needed a new pencil case, so I offered to make him one. He wanted it to be bigger so it could hold all of his supplies. He chose the fabric and I made it. I have to say I love his taste. Now my daughter wants me to make one for her.

2013 Year in Review
Once I started putting together my photo mosaic I realized how much I had done the past year. I did not do as much blogging but I did get quite a bit accomplished. I tried hard not to start projects unless I got them finished, and I think I have only a couple of new UFOs. I really enjoyed making the socks, and trying out some smaller projects. All in all it was a fabulous year, and I look forward to another creative year in 2014!

Christmas Wrap Up
As I start to organize my quilting for this year, I realized that I did more than just quilting for Christmas gifts.
I made quite a few homemade gifts done this past year for Christmas. I got quilts finished, socks, pilowcases, a Christmas stocking, Christmas tree and some microwave bowl.
I enjoyed mixing it up this year with some big and smaller projects. I think I will continue that this year, but my first priority is to get three quilts done by June. Time to get back at it!
