WIP Wednesday - I Wish I May
"Interest is never enough. If it doesn’t haunt you, you’ll never write it well. What haunts and obsesses you into writing may, with luck and labour, interest your readers. What merely interests you is sure to bore them. " - Steven Heighton
I have been trying to figure out lately what interests me. I have gotten a lot of my UFOs done lately and some that are left need touches here or there or are waiting for the right fabric to meet them. Maybe there should be a fabric dating site! Anyhow, I was in a bit of a quandary with what to do and my dh mentioned that it would be nice to have a spring quilt for our king sized bed. I had gotten fabric for it years ago, but with babies being born, and kids growing older I had never gotten around to making it. I also had a double sized bed quilt that I had gotten for my son years ago that had very similar colours. I realized that if I put them together they would make a great quilt.
The pattern is I Wish I May by Border Creek Station. I saw this made years ago in pinks and browns, and I knew I wanted to make it some day.
Here is my tiny little start. I love Log Cabin Quilts and I am excited to be finally making one for myself!

Sunday Stash
I had a great National Quilt Day last weekend. I had seen some amazing fabric a couple of weeks ago at my LQS that looked like it would be a great match for some fabric that I had put together for a King size quilt a few years ago. Last Saturday I brought the fabric in to the store, and the fabrics will be great together. The best part is that the fabric was only $5.00 a metre and they had the exact amount I needed on the bolt.
I also got some really sweet fqs as well.
I then went to my other LQS and was talking to the owner about a quilt retreat that she is having in the fall. She mentioned that there are spots left, and so I signed up! I have never been to a quilt retreat before and I am very excited. Now it's time to get some quilting done!

Friday Finishes - Spring Socks
The spring socks are all done for my daughter. She loves them and has worn them a couple of times. I have to say I have become addicted to making them. They are an easy project to take and do, and they feel so warm on the feet.
I have started now on a pair for my sister. Now that I have made a few with a basic pattern, I would love to try something different next time. I went to the library today and signed out some sock knitting books. Linking up to Finish It Up Friday at Crazy Mom Quilts, TGIFF, and On the Needles.

Look Back, March Forward
February was a productive month for me. I got my quilting room cleaned up, again, organized my quilt tops, completed a few quilts, made some socks and got some more started. I am looking forward to a productive March too.
