You'll get a more blended effect (I think more appropriate for your lovely fabrics). I wouldn't even worry much about the contrasts, as long as you lay out ALL the blocks before assembly and make sure you balance the light/dark evenly.

SandieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8012524790682959020.post-44040638614722804102010-04-29T18:00:27.908-04:002010-04-29T18:00:27.908-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Sandiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13432970073432340489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8012524790682959020.post-74188936409070173212010-04-29T13:20:13.995-04:002010-04-29T13:20:13.995-04:00I love your pile of fabrics. I would pair the pale blue with dark green or brown and pale green with the medium blue. You can also try pairing the medium green/blues with the creams. Contrast is key. Or you might like your squares to blend a bit. From the look of the pattern, the smaller trail of diagonal squares also plays a key role in the design. You could try to make them 'read' all the same. Have fun - you have a great selection to play with! You just have to make sure that there is enough contrast between your lighter fabric and your dark fabric. So you will need darker fabrics paired up with your greens and blues.Arianehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06443998599169190006noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8012524790682959020.post-14135916726861615762010-04-29T13:05:08.520-04:002010-04-29T13:05:08.520-04:00i think using the light greens and blues would be ...i think using the light greens and blues would be fabulous. lovely assortment of fabric you have there. lucky sisterLee Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10733872088509481749noreply@blogger.com
